Description

A fun and engaging project for kids to create vibrant pinwheel paintings using bubble wrap and washable paint.

Materials

  • Bubble wrap
  • Washable paint
  • Cardstock or heavy paper
  • Paintbrushes
  • Scissors
  • Optional: Tape for securing bubble wrap

Instructions

  1. Prepare your materials: Gather all your materials. You’ll need your bubble wrap, paint, and paper ready on a flat surface.
  2. Cut the bubble wrap: Using scissors, cut the bubble wrap into circles or squares—about 6 inches in diameter works well.
  3. Apply paint: Use a paintbrush to apply a thin layer of washable paint on a section of the bubble wrap. Feel free to mix colors for unique effects!
  4. Press it down: Place a piece of cardstock over the painted side and press down gently to transfer the paint pattern.
  5. Peel off the wrap: Carefully lift the bubble wrap to reveal the vibrant design on your cardstock. Repeat the process for multiple prints.
  6. Create pinwheels: Once the paint has dried, cut out pinwheel shapes from your painted cardstock.
  7. Assemble the pinwheels: Secure the pinwheel with a straw or skewer for easy spinning. You can add extra decorations like glitter or sparkle for a fun touch!

Notes

Encourage experimentation with colors and patterns. Manage mess by covering your workspace.
