Description

Create charming pressed flower cornstarch charms to capture the beauty of nature and enjoy a fun crafting session.

Materials

  • Fresh or dried flowers
  • Cornstarch
  • Water
  • Cookie cutters (optional)
  • Rolling pin
  • Parchment paper

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Flowers: If using fresh flowers, gently press them using a heavy book for a few days until flattened. For dried flowers, ensure they are not brittle.
  2. Mix the Cornstarch: In a bowl, combine equal parts of cornstarch and water until you achieve a smooth dough-like consistency.
  3. Roll Out the Mixture: Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper and roll it out to about a quarter-inch thickness using a rolling pin.
  4. Cut Out Shapes: Use cookie cutters to cut the rolled dough into your desired shapes. Set these shapes aside.
  5. Add Flowers: Press your dried or prepared flowers onto the dough shapes gently, ensuring they adhere well.
  6. Drying Time: Allow the charms to dry for 24-48 hours at room temperature, flipping them halfway through to ensure even drying.

Notes

To create vibrant designs, layer different colors of flowers. If sticky, sprinkle extra cornstarch on your surface.
